Current News
Hi everyone
The Urban Mission Network Bulletin for May 2012 can be downloaded from the link above.
I hope you will encourage your Minister and Church Councillors to attend the Network Gathering at Morialta UC on Thursday 24th May – details are in the Bulletin. As you know, Network Gatherings are the centrepiece of our networking and are a wonderful opportunity to catch up with friends of long standing and make new ones, hear stories from other congregations, encourage each other in our ministry and mission, and learn a bit about what’s happening in the wider church.
We’re looking forward to engaging with Rev Amel Manyon and the life of the newly established Dinka Speaking Faith Community and hearing from Rev Dave Williamson, the Presbytery’s Multicultural Ministries Officer, as he introduces his own area of Ministry, describes what a Faith Community is, and outlines his own response to Amel’s story and journey. [Click this link to read our news item on this Gathering.]
There will be opportunity, too, to financially contribute to Amel’s pioneering ministry.
For catering purposes, please make your booking with Helena at the Morialta Church office (8331 9344 or office@morialtauca.org.au). It will be lovely to see you.
Kind regards
Christine Secombe

What is the UMN?
Members from nineteen Uniting Church congregations meet about four times a year at different participating churches around Adelaide encouraging each other in ministry and mission, sharing resources and providing mutual support.
The participating churches are all of a similar size in their communities and located in prominent shopping precincts. The Urban Mission Network provides an opportunity to support each other and education on topics that will help us grow. It is important to find out what the other congregations are doing and offers the chance to share resources. It is organised to replace presbytery’s.
