At 9.15am, Sunday morning worship is a time for all to participate including children of primary school age and younger. There is a children’s area with table and chairs, play mat, books, toys and activity materials.
Each week there are a variety of activities including colouring, mazes, word searches and usually painting or craft. Children stay in church and may either do the activities in the area set aside or in their seat. There is an adult who helps and encourages the children to join in, keeping them well occupied.
The minister includes the children in a story time and in other aspects of the worship. The service is bright and visually stimulating so children are interested and able to join in with the adults.
If you would are interested in a more formal Sunday morning children’s program, we would be very happy to provide it, so please contact us to tell us what you would like us to provide.
We also have Roundabout Messy Church, an alternative way for families to explore the Christian faith stories, spend time with each other and connect with God, from 4-6pm (including a light meal) on the first Sunday of each month (except in school holidays). For more about Messy Church at Blackwood UC, click here or on the Messy Church logo on the right hand side of this page.
For those who would like to be resourced with material to use with your children at home, we are building a series of resource pages with some ideas, crafts and website links connected to the weekly program we use in church, for you to download.
